Born in Ponta Delgada, Filipe Furtado exchanged the islands for the city of Coimbra, in 2010, to study journalism. During his stay, the passion for music took over and, after finishing his degree, he enrolled in the jazz course at Tone Music School. With the guitar as a companion, he begins to write, experiment, adapt some poems to songs and gains the courage to sing them in public. An eclectic music lover, even more so as an amateur broadcaster, it is in the vast paradise of Brazilian music that his passion lives: bossa nova. Accompanied by drummer Paulo Silva and saxophonist Filipe Fidalgo, his trio also travels through other territories, from jazz to the rich Portuguese traditional songbook. His debut album, Prelúdio, was recorded at Blue House studios and released by Azorean label Marca Pistola, at the end of 2022.
